About the Collection

Provenance

1,330 works. One collection. Held together — and offered only together.

[PLACEHOLDER — needs real content] The collection history below is interim framing copy. Replace with the authorized provenance narrative from Jerry L. Popiel before launch.

The Frank Howell Collection was assembled by Jerry L. Popiel, Chairman and Founder of Geotech, and represents one of the largest single private holdings of Howell's work anywhere: original lithographs, artist's proofs, trial proofs, hand-colored and museum editions, paintings, drawings, sketchbooks, and studio material spanning the artist's career from the 1950s to his death in 1997.

Every work has been individually catalogued, photographed, and stored under professional care. The catalogue records object numbers, media, edition designations, and dimensions for each piece — the same records that drive this website.

The collection is offered exclusively as a whole. Its significance lies in its completeness: the working proofs beside the published editions, the sketches beside the finished canvases. Broken apart, that record disappears; together, it constitutes a definitive archive of one artist's life in images — a foundation for scholarship, exhibition, or a museum-anchored gift.

Serious parties are invited to start a conversation.
